The Oak Door is honored to welcome Marcus Notaro, Head Winemaker of the renowned Napa Valley winery Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, for an exclusive one-night-only wine dinner.
Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars rose to international acclaim when it took first place in the red wine category at the 1976 “Judgment of Paris,” surpassing some of France’s most prestigious wines. This historic moment established the winery as a symbol of excellence and proved that world-class wines can come from beyond the traditional wine regions.
During this special evening, Mr. Notaro will share insights into the winery’s storied legacy, his winemaking philosophy, and how the involvement of Italy’s esteemed Marchesi Antinori since 2007 has further elevated the estate’s quality and global presence.

With nearly two decades of expertise dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon, Marcus has refined his craft by seamlessly merging the time-honored techniques of the Old World with the forward-thinking innovations of the New. His unwavering passion for producing wines that showcase ripe fruit character with poised elegance led him to join Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars in 2013.
Guided by a philosophy rooted in expressing the nuance and complexity of Napa Valley’s singular terroir and the inherent nobility of Cabernet Sauvignon, Marcus continues to elevate the winery’s legacy.
