Grand Hyatt Tokyo’s Circle of LOVE Programme

2014 クリスマスチャリティープログラム

From mid-November until 25 December, Grand Hyatt Tokyo will be promoting its Circle of LOVE charity programme, featuring various activities designed to support disabled people as well as children in the Tohoku region, an area hit by the earthquake and tsunami of March 2011. This charity programme is a part of our commitment to assist the people in our community. Since March 2011, Grand Hyatt Tokyo has strived to support through monetary donations, charitable contributions and volunteering efforts to the communities affected by the catastrophic disaster. As of September 2014, we have raised about 42 million JPY for the Tohoku region.

The theme for this Christmas season is “Circle of LOVE”, which focuses on sharing love through charity and the circular process of giving back. Grand Hyatt Tokyo works with Re Kikou, a nonprofit organisation that recycles wine and champagne corks into new products, which helps generate employment and support independence for people with disabilities. Corks recycled from the hotel are used by Re Kikou to make original Grand Hyatt Tokyo products, from which a portion of the revenue is donated — a full-circle process that supports various organisations and people.

About Circle of LOVE

Grand Hyatt Tokyo is involved with a charity programme embracing the theme “Circle of LOVE”, which offers hotel guests and others the opportunity to share in the love of giving back. The hotel collaborates with Re Kikou, an organisation that recycles corks from wine and champagne bottles used in the hotel to create original products. In creating these products, the organisation assists welfare facilities in generating work and independence for disabled people. A part of the revenue that is collected from some of the offers will be donated to Kids Earth Fund (KEF) in support of the children of Tohoku who have been affected by the earthquake and tsunami of 11 March, 2011. Further, we will be displaying in the hotel’s lobby a charity visual from KEF’s artwork collected from children around the world.
