“SWEET CHRISTMAS” PROGRAMME 2012

Details of the programme

2012 クリスマスチャリティープログラム Sweet Christmas

From 15 November to 25 December, Grand Hyatt Tokyo will offer a “Sweet Christmas” charity programme featuring various activities designed to bring happiness to the children in the Tohoku region, an area hit by the earthquake and tsunami in March, 2011.

For a limited time, Grand Hyatt Tokyo‟s hotel lobby will be transformed in to a “Forest of Sweets” to showcase the joys of Christmas and “kizuna (connection) and hope” exchanged between the charitable children of Tokyo and the children of the Tohoku region. Pastry Chef Masaki Okazaki, winner of the renowned Mondial Des Arts Sucrés 2012 pastry competition, held in March in Paris, will showcase his multi-coloured winning sugar showpiece as the key ornament in an elaborately decorated “Forest of Sweets.” There will also be violin and piano performances, filling the lobby with warm Christmas music during between 21 to 25 December.

In honour of the Season of Giving, Grand Hyatt Tokyo will offer a “Sweet Christmas Charity Stay” between 1 November and 25 December, from which 5% of the room revenue will be donated to Kids Earth Fund. Charity hampers filled with the most popular treats from Fiorentina Pastry Boutique will also be available, from which a part of that revenue will also be donated. At our restaurants and bars, original Christmas charity candies will be available for ¥500 each, with part of those proceeds to be donated as well.

All donations will be sent to Kids Earth Fund to support the children in the Tohoku region.
