The SDGs were set up in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and are intended to be achieved by the year 2030.<\/p>\n<p>All of us at Grand Hyatt Tokyo are committed to educating ourselves and supporting the SDGs as a key initiative of the hotel. We are supporting the SDGs through the below policies.<\/p>\n<p><br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Environmental<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Plastic Reduction<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/en\/restaurants\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/SDGs-Paper-Straw-640-min.jpg\" alt=\"SDGs Paper Straw 640\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-13626\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Replacing plastic room keys with keys made from renewable materials.<\/li>\n<li> Eliminating plastic straws and providing paper straws.<\/li>\n<li> Eliminating plastic lids on paper cups and providing paper lids.<\/li>\n<li> Minimizing the use of plastic containers and packaging for takeout items and in-room dining.<\/li>\n<li> Mineral water in the guestrooms is provided in aluminum bottle cans<!--recyclable glass bottles--> instead of PET bottles.<!-- (excluding certain guestrooms) --><\/li>\n<li> The mineral water bottles distributed at meetings and events are provided in aluminum cans instead of PET bottles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>*  Implementation of the Plastic Resources Law: Grand Hyatt Tokyo is focused on minimizing our plastic footprint and is preparing to reduce the use of specific plastic items.<br \/>\n<br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Energy Conservation \/ Resource Protection<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/en\/restaurants\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Rainforest-Alliance-Coffee-Logo-640B-min.jpg\" alt=\"Rainforest Alliance Coffee Logo 640B\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-14755\" \/><br \/>\n<!--<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/en\/restaurants\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/SDGs-Sustainable-Seafood-640-min.jpg\" alt=\"SDGs Sustainable Seafood 640\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-13627\" \/>--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Using coffee beans from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms. To do this, we filter our grey water and reuse it for future  flushes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><br style=\"clear: both;\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Safety and Security<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Fire and Disaster Prevention<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/en\/restaurants\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Grand-Hyatt-Tokyo-Exterior-Daytime-640-min.jpg\" alt=\"Grand Hyatt Tokyo Exterior Daytime 640\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-13629\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> We have obtained a firefighting Mark of Excellence from the City of Tokyo and a Certificate of Fireproofing from the government.<\/li>\n<li> Participating in local firefighting and fire safety events.<\/li>\n<li> Implementing regular fire drills.<\/li>\n<li> Holding lifesaving classes.<\/li>\n<li> Participating in the Roppongi Hills Earthquake Drill.<\/li>\n<li> We have an agreement with Minato City to accept people who need shelter or have difficulty returning home following a natural disaster.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Food Safety<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li> Our hygiene management processes are based on the government\u2019s HACCP principles. Our fundraising and support for the area includes accommodation packages and charity hampers, setting up donation boxes in the hotel, and volunteer activities by hotel staff in the disaster area.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> Supporting RE Kikou, a non-profit organization that creates employment for people with disabilities through the regeneration of wine and champagne corks.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Supporting KIDS EARTH FUND by setting up donation boxes during the holiday season. We also deliver necessary supplies and arts and crafts materials to children around the world who have been affected by illness, war and natural disasters.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> Holding a Christmas charity concert in cooperation with RIJ, an international refugee support organization.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> Inviting students from a nearby school for children with disabilities, Aiiku Gakuen, to the Christmas celebrations in the lobby, including a surprise visit from Santa.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> Donating a portion of the sales from a stay package to the Japanese Red Cross Society to support medical professionals.<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li> Participating in programs that provide workplace experiences for high school students living in orphanages and with foster parents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Poverty \/ Hunger<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li> We take part in Clean the World, a program that collects and recycles discarded soap from hotels and distributes it to
