Beginning in March, The French Kitchen will offer an afternoon tea and dinner menu inspired by the Russian empress Catherine the Great. Guests can enjoy sweet and savory items that are said to have been loved by the tsarina, along with caviar blinis and glasses of Louis Roederer Cristal Brut. Indulge in this luxurious afternoon tea and dinner and be one of the first people in the world to try NINA'S Ekaterina II, an original blend of Earl Grey and Ceylon teas, as well as dried sunflowers and cornflowers.
This delectable afternoon tea features mouth-watering pastries and traditional Russian favorites, including beef and cabbage-stuffed pirozhki, apple pastila pastries, and ptichie moloko, or "bird's milk" cake. Diners can upgrade to a "Royal" afternoon tea that includes caviar-topped blini pancakes and glasses of Louis Roederer Cristal Brut Champagne, which was created in 1876 to satisfy the demanding tastes of Tsar Alexander II. Produced during the best years after the grapes attain perfect maturity, Cristal is aged for 6 years in Louis Roederer's cellars, resulting in a remarkably balanced and refined Champagne with a silky texture and fruity aromas. This afternoon tea will be completed with a pot of NINA'S original Ekaterina II tea, which will be offered to guests for the first time.

Before Catherine the Great ruled Russia, many wealthy Russian families employed French chefs to incorporate French cooking techniques, ingredients and service into their meals. Chef Troy's menu will reflect this French influence on traditional Russian recipes, inviting diners to savor dishes such as homemade smoked salmon with caviar, roasted beetroot soup and pan-fried tenderloin with foie gras. Diners can then finish the meal with dessert and a pot of NINA'S original Ekaterina II tea.
